The Artist

In the many ways art can present itself to you, it is the Artist's pleasure in the many things you may see or hear. James Orton, painter and musician produces works in audio and visual form as reference to existence.

Life has shown its unpredictability as well as its faith and meaning. In James' childhood home, a one hundred year old Victorian,in Elgin, IL, his father dedicated a room called "the library" to some of his favorite works in paint, print, records and tapes. Some of the prints were by artists such as Alma Tadema, Maxfield Parish and Rossetti, with golds, reds and glowing oranges. While in the library the sounds of Van Morisson's early records would play and sometimes be too loud for the old pocket doors of the room to keep contained.
A variety of faces and fates would meet James in his teen years like many of lives in the world. The attitude of survival and philosophy would persist and be of good fortune for the old soul to write with and inspire the artist's edge.

In 2007 James Orton prepared his first record and released it in 2010 with the help of his wife and band member Lisa Orton and the movement known as ViewOfAKind would also be responsible for the release of six full length albums, an EP titled ViewOfAkind Farms, and the most recent, Tender Memory for 2019. With plans for a new publishing to release in late 2021.
